6 2 3 Chrome VI Remediation

Eurofins | BLC supply the unique patented chemical formulation 6-2-3, which reduces the levels of chrome VI found within leather samples to achieve chrome VI remediation.

What is BLC's 6-2-3 chrome VI remediation solution?

6-2-3 is a unique patented chemical formulation designed for chrome VI remediation which reduces the levels of chrome VI found within leather samples. The solution can be applied either by sponge or spray application directly to the surface of the leather. In testing trials, 6-2-3 proved effective in reducing levels of chrome VI from above 3mg/kg (prohibited) down to none detectable levels (<3mg/kg).

Note: Use of 6-2-3 should not be looked to as a routine, remedial part of leather processing; all necessary steps should be taken during leather processing to ensure the risk of chrome VI formation is minimised. The product should be tested for aesthetics first.

How does Eurofins | BLC's 6-2-3 chrome VI prevention solution work?

  • Proven to reduce levels of chromium VI within leather
  • Easy to apply
  • Best applied to the flesh side of the leather

Please note, Chrome 6-2-3 should be tested first on a leather sample before application on a larger scale.

How do you know how much chrome VI is in your leather?

Eurofins | BLC conducts chrome VI testing to test for levels of chrome VI in your leather sample or leather product. Chrome VI testing at Eurofins | BLC is carried out to the ISO 17025 standard by experienced laboratory professionals.
