Principles of Fitting

  • Foot anatomy and study of the internal and external structure of the feet.
  • A look at sizing systems and principles of sizing
  • Foot comfort
  • Foot measurements and assessments
  • Practical Fitting and fitting on each other!

Safety Aspects of Footwear

  • A basic understanding of the legal requirements of footwear, including REACH and the general product directive.
  • Labelling directives and other legislation will be discussed.
  • Risk Management.
  • A look at footwear problems and prevention.
  • Lab work - a laboratory tour including key physical footwear tests.
