Understanding Recycled Leather Materials – Members Can Now Download a New Information Guide
A greater interest in how recycled leather materials can be utilised within the supply chain is being shown by those seeking to implement more circular manufacturing processes. In doing so, it is important that brands and retailers are aware of the constraints placed on leather terminology to ensure that all claims of recyclability are made accurately.
A new addition to our Members Toolkit is our Information Guide for Understanding Recycled Leather Materials. The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on the different standards governing the acceptable usage of leather terminology, and to signpost what is, and is not, permissible in the marketing of products according to the content of recycled material.
