Stahl Explores the Generation Z Outlook on the Future of Sustainability in Footwear and Leather
Michael Costello, Director of Sustainability at Stahl will be presenting key insights gathered from Generation Z at the Leather and Sustainability in Retail Conference 2018 which takes place on 15th November in One Great St. George Street, Central London, UK from 12:15pm to 5:30pm.
During this half-day conference Michael will talk about what sustainability in the leather and footwear sector means to Generation Z, who are the post millennial generation born from the mid 90's and are one of the most technologically connected groups of people in the world.
A Generation Z look at the future of sustainability in footwear and leather
Insight from the younger generation can help determine the path that a company follows when it comes to design and trends but also can be useful in predicting future decisions about sustainability. Michael Costello, Stahl’s Director of Sustainability, will share such insights based on a recent study undertaken by Stahl Campus® with graduate students from the Global Luxury and Management faculty of North Carolina State University.
While a majority of Gen Z’ers expect footwear companies to commit to good corporate citizenship, and their decisions are based on knowledge and research already acquired at a young age, the same demographic group has widely differing views on sustainability and what it means for leather. This presentation will present results from the study, including real video footage of the students giving feedback.
