Improve Your Quality Control Processes through Laboratory Accreditation

If your organisation has an in-house laboratory that is used for physical testing of materials, you can improve the quality control processes for your laboratory through Eurofins | BLC Laboratory Accreditation Services.

Quality control is a fundamental system which sits at the heart of many organisations, particularly those delivering technical services, such as laboratories. Documentation and adherence to processes are essential elements and, as part of an on-going due diligence process, they require an independent third-party review through auditing. In addition, testing proficiency will also be evaluated.

Eurofins | BLC Laboratory Accreditation enables in-house physical testing laboratories to gain accredited status through an audit to the principles of ISO 17025, which examines the following areas:

Quality Management System

An assessment of policies and procedures to the principles of ISO 17025 covering the key elements of the standard.

Evidence of Testing Capabilities

Laboratory technicians will be appraised for their adherence to physical testing procedures and if successful, they will become certified through Eurofins | BLC. Some of the tests audited include:

  • BS EN ISO 11640:2012 - Veslic rubbing
  • BS EN ISO 15701:2015 - PVC migration
  • BS EN ISO 3377-1:2011 - Tear strength
  • BS EN ISO 5402-1:2017 - Flex
  • BS EN ISO 11644:2009 - Finish adhesion (leather)
  • BS EN ISO 15700:1999 - Water spotting

Verification of Staff Training Records

Each laboratory technician must have a record of their training which shows clear verifcation for them to be able to perform specific physical tests.

Environment & Equipment

An assessment will also be made of the laboratory environment and equipment. Calibration records will be checked as well as the use of equipment during tests.

Document Control

A review of the methods in circulation, version numbers and approval by the appropriate signatories.

Reporting

Verification that an approved signatory is present on reports and that reports have been peer reviewed. Additionally, the alignment with customer methodology will be checked to ensure consistency.
