La’Deva McKenzie: Head of Technical
La’Deva is a trained biologist, who started her career specialising in the discipline of microbiology. La’Deva joined BLC in 2014 as a Research Scientist within the innovations team. Over the years, La’Deva’s career has evolved from undertaking biochemical research and development projects for leather and associated materials, to managing a team of scientists and overseeing sustainability consulting projects. In her current role as Head of Technical, La’Deva is responsible for the technical delivery and operational teams within Eurofins | BLC, encompassing analytical and performance testing, expert services, and sustainability.
La’Deva works with material manufacturing supply chains within the sector of consumer products (specifically softlines, leather, toys and hardlines), inclusive of both upstream and downstream stakeholders, to provide technical support focused on meeting sustainability and legislative/regulatory objectives through testing, research, innovation, supply chain mapping, and bespoke projects.

Katrina Prior: Sustainable Chemistry Technical Lead
Katrina has worked at Eurofins | BLC for 3 years and is currently the Sustainability Chemistry Technical Lead. She has a background in Chemistry and has previously worked as an Analytical Chemist and in Chemical and Regulatory Support. Katrina now works with clients to help them understand legislation and technical information and creates sustainable solutions driven by emerging legislation for the apparel, footwear and upholstery industry.
