EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles
In March this year the European Commission published a communication covering strategy for sustainable and circular textiles with the objective of ensuring that by 2030, textile products sold within the EU will be durable, recyclable and where possible constructed from recycled materials.
The aim is to ensure greater environmental and social responsibility within the production of materials and assurance that products are free from hazardous substances. Further, current waste management practices such as incineration and landfill for textiles will be reduced to an absolute minimum.
Eurofins | BLC can support you to ensure your products are free from hazardous substances through our Chem-MAP program which uses testing and auditing to ensure the chemistry your suppliers are using to make your products complies with regulation and is input hazard free. Further we can trace your products to raw material extraction and provide a risk assessment and recommended actions against potential social and environmental challenges within your supply chain.
