Following a networking break sponsored by Applied DNA Sciences the topic of microplastics and microfibers will be discussed, considering; definitions, potential risk areas, and impacts, how clean manufacturing can limit microplastic release and how this issue is affecting alternative materials to leather and the leather industry more generally.

The final part of the conference will focus on the increased deforestation rates in the Amazon, what this means for those sourcing leather knowingly, or unknowingly from this region and some of the strategies and programs available for managing the issue, including improved traceability programs and cutting edge technology such as DNA tagging.

Delegates will be given the opportunity to ask questions of speakers following presentations to push the conversation further.
