FREE WEBINAR | Consumer Assurance of Allergy-Free Potential in Metal Components and Products using AnchorCert® Protect
Free Webinar: Tuesday 10th January 2023
Session 1: 11.00 am CET
Session 2: 11.00 am ET (5.00 pm CET)
The potential for certain metals in metallic components and products to cause Allergic Contact Dermatitis (ACD) in the product user/consumer has long been known. However, assessing the overall risk of metallic components to cause ACD is complex and has traditionally required toxicological expertise to determine overall risk profiles for combinations of individual metals.
About ACD
Many different metals including nickel, cobalt and zinc may be intentionally or unintentionally used in the manufacture of metallic components and products that are destined to be worn near or next to the skin. Increased exposure to certain types and combinations of metals has led to an increase in metal allergies which can result in ACD. Perhaps the most commonly known metal to cause ACD is nickel and, as a result, this metal is often included in a Product Restricted Substance List (PRSL). However, what is often less commonly known, is that combinations of certain metals at concentration levels below those individually restricted on a PRSL have the ability in combination to lead to ACD depending on their exact mix and profile.
About this Webinar
In this 45 minute webinar from Eurofins | BLC, we will guide you through the complex topic of Allergic Contact Dermatitis and provide insights and opportunities for you as a retailer to promote products with increased consumer assurance.
Register for this webinar to understand:
- A background to ACD in the context of metallic consumer products and components
- How testing of combinations of metals can help reduce the risk of ACD in your consumer
- Benefits for Brands and Retailers to adopt a 16 metal screening test instead of testing for nickel alone
- A new testing service called AnchorCert® Protect
- How AnchorCert® Protect can be used to boost sales, reduce returns, increase consumer confidence and future-proof against future changes in REACH legislation
The webinar is offered in two different timeslots with the same content. Please attend the one that suits you best. A recording webinar will be available to registrants on-demand after the session.
