Conference Sponsor LANXESS to present ‘X-Biomer insitu® @ Tannery 4.0® - the future has just begun’ at Leather Sustainability Conference
Dietrich Tegtmeyer, Vice President Global Development Crusting and Leather Industry Relations at LANXESS, will present ‘X-Biomer insitu® @ Tannery 4.0® - the future has just begun’ at the Sustainability in the Leather Supply Chain Conference on 15th March 2018 at APLF in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

X-Biomer insitu® @ Tannery 4.0® - the future has just begun
Tannery 4.0® is the LANXESS program that combines the elements of our Sustainable Leather Management System (SLM) and our leading technology innovations such as the practical example of X-Biomer insitu.
The unique combination of a complete new business concept together with targets of circular economy improvements and energy saving for the global leather manufacturing process makes this element of Tannery 4.0® valuable for the entire leather industry.
X-Biomer insitu produces liquid X-Biomer retanning products from tanneries’ collagen-based by-products in a modern modular production unit. With the aim to operate this production unit at tanneries, not only will the manufacturing process of this retanning agent be improved with regard to circular economy aspects, but also the overall efficiency of leather manufacturing and tanning operations will improve, by reducing by-products and maximising the value proposition of collagen materials.
The liquid X-Biomer retanning chemistry is available on demand, on site and just in time = "in situ".
This element of the Tannery 4.0® program showcases the variety opportunities are available to tanneries and leather manufacturers to further improve the overall eco-balance and chemical supply chain of the leather manufacturing process. The technical realization involves many elements from the modern world of Industry 4.0, to be revealed at the Sustainability in the Leather Supply Chain Conference.
