Leather Garment Testing
With leather garments so popular in the high street it is critical to ensure that the performance of these products meets customer expectations. Despite many leather garments being price point items, customers still have a perception of quality because they are made of leather.
To ensure that leather garments perform as expected we recommend a range of tests. These are designed to test the garments' suitability for wear and include finish adhesion, tear strength, colour fastness, pH, rub fastness, etc.
One of the most common consumer complaints is damage due to dry cleaning. It is no longer enough to label garments as "specialist dry clean only". There are several different cleaning methods all of which can cause different reactions with the leather. To combat this, BLC has developed a unique procedure in conjunction with Johnsons Cleaners to ensure that garments are cleaned in the most appropriate way.
Please see our specification page. Our aim is to provide test results within 3-5 days of receipt of samples.
BLC can help with all your testing needs. For further details please contact the Testing Sales Team on +44 (0) 1604 679999, fax +44 (0) 1604 679998 or email info@blcleathertech.com
