BLC is a world leader in the provision of technical services to the global leather supply chain including leather and product manufacturers and increasingly high street retailers and leading global brands. Clients include, Nike, Adidas, Clarks, Mulberry, Anya Hindmarch, Burberry, Coach, Next, Marks & Spencer’s, IKEA and other well known brands and high street retailers.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our busy and growing testing team to provide support with departmental administration. This is an exciting role working with our extensive International client base of retailers and brands to support with testing of leather and leather products including footwear, furniture, bags and accessories.
An element of the role will include supporting the testing administrator with all of the administrative elements necessary to process and prepare samples for testing. The department currently operates a Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS), a software based system which supports the complete operations of the testing department within the business.
These operations will include; booking in of samples, receipting clients, populating the corporate database, labelling of samples, preparation of paperwork and job files and preparation and labelling of the sample vials. The role will also include e-mailing reports to clients, basic lab preparation of samples and the management of client files.
BLC offers fast turnaround technical services to its client base so ideally the candidate will have experience of working in a commercial environment.
This position does involve customer facing activities including telephone and e-mail contact and face to face contact as necessary so experience in dealing with customers in this capacity is desirable.
The ability to work in a precise and accurate manner with excellent attention to detail is also critical in this role. The ideal candidate will ideally have some chemical or biological sciences . The candidate will also possess excellent communication skills both verbally and in written text and have good IT skills with competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The successful candidate will report to the testing manager.
