Aimed at manufacturers and retailers of leather upholstered furniture and the leather repair sector this course provides delegates with a greater understanding and experience in carrying out minor leather repairs on upholstery, including defects such as scuffs, scratches, cuts, holes and burns. A practical opportunity to perfect existing skills and develop new ones, covering the techniques required to produce invisible repairs and practise colour toning.

Combines a theoretical and practical approach to:

Minor leather repair
Offers delegates a hands-on opportunity to practise and develop the skills required to carry out repairs to scuffs, scratches, cuts, holes and burns
Re-colouring and refurbishment
Builds on the minor leather repair knowledge to ensure a professional result                
 
including aviation, marine and rail applications
Aimed at OEMs in the automotive, aviation, marine and rail industries and their respective suppliers across the leather supply chain from tanners to components’ manufacturers, etc, this course provides a broad perspective of leather supply chain issues related to the areas ‘what is leather?’, ‘how leather is made’, ‘performance specifications’ including:

· Global view of the raw material supply and traceability
· The leather-making processes in detail
· The importance of specifications, with particular reference to automotive and other transportation leathers
· Laboratory demonstrations and problem solving
· Restricted substances and legislation
· Guidance on labelling
· Specific design and construction problems
· What can be controlled and how
· Consideration of some of the eco issues affecting the automotive sector

The course will focus on automotive leathers, but will also highlight the specification-related differences for aviation, marine and rail applications and offers ample opportunity for discussion and debate.
